As we respond to the COVID-19 outbreak, Dowdy’s Automotive Service is committed to maintaining convenience and safety as you interact with our staff. 

To help reduce social contact exposure we have the following options for vehicle pick up and drop off available at all five Treasure Valley store locations:

  • Drop-off and Pick Up with No Staff Interaction or Building Entry Required
  • Vehicle Pick Up and Drop Off at Your Location – some limitations apply
  • Single Passenger Shuttle Service – some limitations apply

For Drop Off and Pickup: 

  • When you call, the store will open a service request on our system and confirm availability.   
  • Take the vehicle to the store location. Park it in the customer parking area during store hours, leave the keys in a pre-determined location inside the unlocked vehicle and leave. 
  • Call the store location from your cell phone and inform them that the vehicle is in the lot for service. 

Our staff will begin the service requested and communicate with you to authorize any service/expense. 

  • On completion we will call you, finalize payment via credit card and leave the vehicle in the lot for pick up with the keys in a pre-determined location. Your receipt/warranty will be in the vehicle. 
  • Vehicles can also be dropped after store hours using our secure “night drop” box at each location and when staff contacts you simply request a “no contact” pick up when services are complete.  

For Vehicle Pickup or Delivery: 

  • To assure adequate resource we ask that customers voluntarily limit this free service to those who are unable to secure safe pickup/drop off assistance. Initiate by calling the store nearest you. Some vehicle limitations apply:
  • Must be within 5 miles of the store location. 
  • Must be accessible without entering a garage or gated lot. 
  • Keys must be left in a convenient location pre-determined with our service staff. 
  • Dowdy’s is not responsible for damage or theft of the vehicle prior to pick up by store staff. 
  • If operating and safe to drive - Dowdy’s will send a team member to pick up the vehicle.  
  • If not operating or safe to drive, we will arrange for a tow truck to pick the vehicle up same day.  

Our staff will begin the service requested and communicate with you to authorize any service/expense. 

  • On completion, we will call you, finalize payment via credit card and deliver the vehicle to the pickup location with the keys in the pre-determined location. Your receipt/warranty will be in the vehicle. 

Vehicles will be sanitized in accordance with our vehicle sanitization procedure on arrival at our store location (to protect our staff) and before return to you (to protect our customers). To learn more about our sanitization procedure visit:

For Single Passenger Shuttle Service 

  • Each store provides shuttle service limited to one passenger (or one group if there are multiple individuals in your party) and a driver for your shuttle in order to minimize social exposure. 
  • Please call in advance to confirm shuttle availability to minimize lobby wait time. 
  • Customers are welcome to sit in the back seat of any shuttle vehicle to minimize social exposure.  
  • The shuttle vehicle’s interior contact surfaces and interior/exterior door handles are sanitized with an approved disinfectant prior to each customer trip. 
  • Shuttles drop off or pickup can be provided to any location within 5 miles of the store.  

The current COVID-19 outbreak is stressful. Having reliable transportation is essential in times such as this. We are grateful to be a part of this community and are committed to doing our part to minimize social exposure for our customers and staff.
